The pelham is a fixed lever bit. Through its action on the horse's neck and the chin (mandible) it has a more or less significant lowering effect depending on the size of the branches and its installation (adjustment with two or four reins, wedding rings, curb chain). It is interesting on powerful horses and/or relatively in the blood to channel their energy. The curb chain allows you to vary the intensity of the bit. It is recommended to use curb protectors for sensitive horses.
