Nettle, a draining plant recommended for horses with joint stiffness:
Nettle is a plant very rich in silica. Nettle is traditionally used for joint stiffness and also has draining properties. This vegetable silica is very well tolerated by the body and promotes bone remineralization in horses. Nettle is also useful as a source of minerals at the end of gestation or lactation.
What to combine nettle with?
If there is a need for increased remineralization, nettle can be supplemented with a marine algae treatment, such as lithothamnum. This oceanic algae is a source of easily assimilated calcium and magnesium, useful in the event of a deficient diet or demineralization. Lithothamne is also recommended for gastric acidity
